Leading through systems
Good systems are invisible when they work well, they simply help people do their jobs with clarity and confidence. Governance and management under the NDIS are not about paperwork or control; they are about trust, safety, and accountability.
Core Module 2 is the engine room of an NDIS Provider. It covers the systems that make an organisation accountable:
- Governance
- Risk
- Quality
- Information
- Feedback and complaints
- Incident management
- Human resources and workforce capability
- Continuity of support
- Emergency support
Most of this will be tested with your senior leaders and though the Stage 1 desktop review. At stage 2 the auditor is trying to verify that as a frontline leader, you turn policies and procedures into daily practice.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this course, frontline leaders will be able to:
- Explain the link between governance, quality management, and daily participant safety.
- Manage risk effectively by identifying hazards and implementing controls without limiting participant independence.
- Lead a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging staff to report incidents and feedback openly.
- Facilitate the complaints process, ensuring participants feel heard and issues are resolved transparently.
- Ensure all staff meet human resources requirements, including mandatory training and screening checks.
- Maintain accurate information management systems that protect participant privacy and meet audit requirements.
